Lyrea Crawford

Aligned for Vitality for Massage Therapists
March 16-18, 2012
Details:
Learn to see the
body differently! This experiential class taught by Lyrea Crawford is designed
to help massage therapists identify less than efficient alignment patterns in
the body. By the end of this class, you will have a solid understanding of the
muscular and fascial anatomy that creates these patterns. This information can
be utilized in establishing effective massage protocols for your clients, and
for your own self-care. This class will include:
• Structural, functional and anatomical studies
• Exploration of the myofascial meridian model known as "Anatomy
Trains" by Thomas W. Myers
• Increased awareness of fascial connections in the body, especially where
restrictions contribute to problems in other areas
• Practice in "seeing" habitual/inefficient/compensatory patterns
• Techniques to improve alignment and muscle recruitment patterns.
• Ways to waken and strengthen core muscles of postural support
• Increased awareness of the breath, grounding, and feet/pelvic floor
connections
• A focus on self-acceptance and compassion
• Tips on structuring a home yoga practice based on therapeutic principles
