Community Based Massage-a-Thon Events
Build Your Practice Through Outreach!
How it works:
You choose a local event happening in your neighborhood, such as a firemans dance, golf benefit, local festival, etc. Or choose to create your own Massage-a-Thon event to benefit your favorite charity! You and your team perform chair massage for $1/minute, donating at least 50% to the event or organization of your choice on behalf of yourself or business and AMTA-WI.
AMTA-WI provides you with customizable flyers to promote your event, a press release to submit to local media to promote your event and business, banners, sign in/off sheets to obtain prospective client contact info, customizable thank you cards, name tags, even a donation certificate!

AMTA-WI is excited to partner with WAFS (Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety) to support burn survivors through massage!
Members of the WI Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association Outreach Committee provided complimentary massage services to burn survivors throughout our state. Our partnership began in 2011 when AMTA-WI attended Summer Camp for Burn Injured youth. We had the pleasure of serving the campers with short table massages one evening followed by Family Day, where chair massages raised over $200 to support 2012 camp activities!
Last year, our partnership grew. AMTA-WI provided Outreach Volunteers with a six-hour training course in Active Isolated Stretching to allow members to serve WAFS to the best of our ability. We once again attended “Burn Camp” in August, we are adding to our service by offering individualized service within partnering hospitals and by serving at the 2012 World Burn Congress in September!
Please consider becoming involved in our Outreach effort!
We are currently looking for exceptional volunteers who feel called to work with the burn population in an ongoing manner to support WAFS hospital programs. Opportunities involve both serving in burn units of partnering hospitals and/or supporting survivors once they are back home. We currently have the opportunity to serve at:
- University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics
- Columbia St. Mary's Regional Burn Center
- American Family Children's Hospital

The AMTA-WI Chapter is a non-profit, professional massage therapy association with nearly 2,000 members. Our motto is Promoting Wellness Through Massage. As a state chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association, which is approaching 60,000 members, we strive to make available to our members the highest quality continuing education providers and to keep them informed of relevant Wisconsin news. This we do through semi-annual meetings, regular newsletters and our chapter website.
