WAFS Burn Camp 2011 Outreach Event Celebrates Success

AMTA-WI Outreach Committee hosted a Massage-a-Thon tent to benefit WAFS Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth.  AMTA members from throughout the state performing massage at the Camp Timber-lee’s Visitors Day Event on Thursday, August 18th.  AMTA-WI Outreach committee members, Roxanne De Trude, Waupaca, Casey Guilfoyle, Sobieski, WI and Amy McLoughlin participated in the outreach event in East Troy, WI.  The group charged $1/minute for the massage services proceeds went toward sponsoring a 2012 camp activity such as horseback riding or a climbing wall.  This year’s camp theme is ” Every Day Hero” honoring the Rechlitz Brothers,  Milwaukee Firefighters who saw a van on fire with children inside and were able to get the children free.   AMTA-WI’s motto is to “Support Wellness Through Massage” and met the goal to raise $200 to sponsor a Camp Timber-lee activity for next year’s program.
